After a vacation in Italy in the town of Laglio on Lake Como, my wife and I were inspired to find a Riva.
By a stroke of luck, this Ariston appeared online in summer 2023 as a “barn find” in former East Germany. The seller had kept the boat for 27 years without doing anything to it. It had previously been owned by Andreas Hagner at Lake Constance in the early 1990s.
The boat is the first Ariston to be zebra-clad according to the Riva yard register and was originally bought by Amy Sever in Milan in 1959. Other history is today unknown.
Original engine was a Chris Craft MCL 175 Hkr. The engine is missing so I have to find a similar one. Some fittings etc. are also missing.
I have started an extensive restoration with replacement of broken frames. New bottom, sides and deck are needed. As being a carpenter myself, I am looking forward to this project.
