Some Pictures from Run&Fun 2010
This years Run&Fun was held in the very middle of Stockholm city. Spread over seven islands, Stockholm enjoys one of the most stunning locations of any capital city in the world. Over 30% of Stockholm is made up of waterways. Placed right in the point where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic sea it’s nickname “Venice of Scandinavia” make sense in a very obvious way.
Here are some preview pictures from this very unique event. Behind the cameras was Nina, Glenn & Olle.
Enjoy yourself!
This was the arrival day with launching by crane for some boats. Lunch and registration as usual at Tobbes place in Waxholm, followed by a trip to Stockholm and our base camp at the former prison island Långholmen in Lake Mälaren.
Evening ended with a very nice BBQ party at Heleneborgs boat club.
A special thanks to them for their hospitality to offer us mooring space at the boat club during this event!

Day 2 was designated as the Salt Water Day, so we had to go thru the locks ones more to get back into the Baltic Sea. A long trip (25 nM) around the islands just outside Stockholm brought us to Balder marin for some service job (3 new batteries and one steering bolt) and a lunch at Bosö båtklubb.
After lunch we continued our trip into "Kyrkfjärden", almost like a small lake with a very narrow channel to the Baltic sea. Almost 2 degrees warmer than the sea and perfect for bathing!
On the way back to Stockholm we stopped at restaurant Bryggan at Lidingö for dinner. Back at base camp about 10'O clock.
Day 3, time for some fresh water cruising. Our hosts Heleneborgs båtklubb have a small club island of them self some 12 nautical miles into Lake Mälaren, and that was our goal for the day.
We had a very nice day together, including a spectacular trip with an old fishing boat equipped with an ancient raw oil engine. We paid back with some full throttle Riva rides around the island.
A fantastic day that ended up with dinner in a park close to our base camp.
Last day, and also the "educational day". Per W. had made a quiz with lots of facts about Stockholm and its immediate vicinity. On the trip we made a stop for some lunch at the restaurant Brostugan.
The day, as the event, ended with our Gala Dinner at Stora Henriksvik, very close to our prison cells at Långholmen!
